It was one amid the planned cities in the post-independence era. The urban design of Chandigarh was planned by Swiss-French architect Le Corbusier. The geographical location of Chandigarh classifies its climate as subtropical. The average temperature during summers reaches 37° C on an average and drops down to 7° C during the winter season on an average. The ‘City Beautiful’ receives an adequate amount of rainfall during the monsoons.
